Becoming ("we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile app that helps you build AI-assisted journeys, complete daily lessons, upload proof photos, and track your progress over time. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account and profile information: We receive and store information needed to create and manage your account, such as your email address, name, profile image, locale, and sign-in identifiers.
  • Onboarding and journey information: We store the goals and preferences you provide, your journey inputs, clarifying answers, generated journey plans, daily lesson progress, quiz answers, task completions, streaks, and other progress data.
  • Photos and memories: We store the photos you upload as proof for completed journey days and to display those memories inside the app.
  • Subscription information: We store subscription status, entitlement, product, and expiration data needed to unlock paid features and keep purchases in sync.
  • Notification information: If you allow notifications, we store your push token and limited notification state, such as recent activity and reminder delivery status.

2. How We Use Information

  • Create, authenticate, and maintain your account
  • Generate personalized journeys, daily lessons, and related content
  • Save your journey progress, photos, and memories
  • Manage subscriptions and restore purchase access
  • Send reminders and re-engagement notifications you choose to receive
  • Protect the service, troubleshoot issues, and respond to support requests

We do not describe data practices here that are not part of the app’s current functionality.

3. Permissions and Device Access

  • Camera: Used when you capture proof photos for a journey day.
  • Photo Library: Used when you select photos to upload or when app features save images to your library.
  • Notifications: Used to send reminders, progress prompts, and similar app notifications if you opt in.

4. Services We Use to Run the App

  • Clerk: account authentication and identity management
  • Convex: backend database, file storage, and app logic
  • OpenRouter and underlying model providers: journey generation and AI-assisted content
  • RevenueCat: subscription status syncing and purchase entitlement management
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: platform billing, renewals, and refunds
  • Expo push services: notification delivery

5. AI Processing

To generate journeys and day-by-day content, we send relevant journey inputs and context to our AI service providers. This may include your goal, clarifying answers, and related journey data needed to create personalized plans.

AI-generated content may be processed by third-party providers according to their own terms and policies. We use those services to operate app functionality, not to sell your data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as it is needed to provide the service, maintain your account, and comply with legal obligations.

If you request account deletion, your account is first marked for deletion. During that 30-day period, signing back in may reactivate the account. After the retention window expires, we permanently remove your user record, journeys, journey day records, stored photos, and associated subscription record from our backend.

We may retain limited information where required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, billing records, or proof of deletion handling.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can update certain profile information inside the app, control device permissions through your device settings, and request deletion of your account in the app or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information handled by the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
